It was dusk and I feared the sunset was leaving without leaving anything memorable behind.
As my wife and I rode our bikes past this spot (which we’d done many times before), the angle of the canoe caught my peripheral vision for a split second long enough to instinctively make me turn around and park.
I “saw” the shot immediately and knew what I wanted.
After some iPhone test shots with slightly different composition and exposure choices, I grabbed one of my “travel” cameras (in this case a Nikon D7000) and worked into position on the mildly muddy shoreline to get the angle and aesthetic I was after.
“At the edge of the ocean. There’s a place. Where we can start over again.” — Stick Figure
It’s never too late to begin again.
To start over.
To risk.
To hit reset and remind you of who you are, and to find that which moves your soul.
This is often only found at the edges.
Only you can stop you.
Keep going.
