People don’t pay attention until they have to.
Until something truly matters to them, their interests or their bottom line.
Until something becomes too big or too remarkable to ignore anymore...
… because they don’t care.

It’s not about how good you are.
It turns out good really is good enough… at least on the internet.
It’s not really about if your work is worthy of attention and praise.
It’s about how many people are AWARE of you and your work.
In many ways, “success” today is about quantity over quality.
It’s about some large quantity of others, in the collective public (or niche), who’ve become aware of you and what you do (somehow, someway), and can no longer deny your “success.”
It’s the local guy who couldn’t get arrested with his art UNTIL he got himself and his art on a big enough stage, with a big enough platform, long enough, for others to notice.
And NOW… he is “someone” worth paying attention to because he now “appears” successful.
The QUALITY of the product or the art didn’t change.
The QUANTITY of viewers and consumers of the art did change.
And that’s the kicker…

Most “artists” (of any type) toil in obscurity their entire lives. The reality eventually becomes a watershed moment for many.
Unfortunately, our society reinforces that you’re not successful until you’ve gotten enough 1) attention, 2) compensation, and/or 3) accolades in the form of attendance, clicks, likes, shares, purchases or platitudes to make others (finally) take notice.
How do you make people pay attention?
Nobody really knows the complete answer to this question except to:
Consistently show up.
Put out quality (along with quantity).
Offer others value throughout.
Your success (and mine) is finding that elusive line between consistent, quality content, and a significant quantity of consumers of your content.
Stay tuned-in…
